Good ideas and useful tips for your website

This issue is all about e-learning. Online courses can overcome great distances. Anyone who wants to impart knowledge can expand their sphere of influence across time zones and borders. This means that even very special, niche offerings can find their audience.

Learn to play the violin online
In 2024, we had the opportunity to implement a remarkable e-learning project. Can you learn to play the violin in an online course? Oh yes, you can. Professional violinist Beth Blackerby has developed violinlab.com, an online course especially for adults.
The courses have been running for 15 years with great success and Beth has over 1300 active subscribers. Before redesigning violinlab.com, the user and payment data of all active subscribers had to be securely transferred to WordPress. Once that was accomplished, we could get to the fun part: developing a beautiful design and building pages.

SHORTNEWS
In Germany, the European Accessibility Act came into force on June 28, 2025. Not many of our customers are affected by this, as companies with fewer than 10 employees and an annual turnover of less than 2 million euros are exempt.
Nevertheless, there are many advantages to focusing on accessibility. You can find some articles on accessibility on our website.
If you want to check the extent to which your website meets the requirements for accessible design, the WAVE accessibility tool allows you to get detailed information.

AND OTHERWISE
The Good Internet
Three years ago, my cello and I were looking for new inspiration. I was browsing the internet and came across the online cello course Cellodiscovery. “That certainly won't work,” I thought. But then I tried it out — and was amazed to discover that online lessons can work very well. If it's done well and the musician knows what she's talking about.
This decision was a turning point in my “cello journey”. I've made new friends and found new projects, and I'm playing a bit better. The internet — what some people make of it — causes a lot of headaches. But “my internet” is also pretty great.
