The system did not invent the image, though. All parts of this image were created by someone at some point. Midjourney, DALL-E & Co. only reassemble them. In this sense, the systems do not create anything new, they merely recombine what already exists.

| Occasionally, I compose arrangements for string instruments. To do so, I must first transfer the original piece into my notation app. This takes a considerable amount of time, as each note must be entered individually. Apps that can scan sheet music have been available for quite some time, but the results have been completely useless thus far. |

The AI wave is bringing about a breakthrough. The Soundslice service is the first tool I've come across that can really read music. You upload a sheet of music or an audio file, and a few minutes later the piece is digitized. I can import the result into my notation app and edit it there.

Many things are possible today that were unimaginable just a short time ago. For example, it is possible to split a recording into individual tracks (instruments). I think I'll try that next.
